Lillybrook make improvements to public footpath

Lillybrook have recently made improvements to the public footpath which runs along the top of the park overlooking Dauntsey Vale.

We used much of our excess soil stock to fill a large subsidence area of the footpath, making it much more level and considerably wider through that particular area.

The grass seed we planted has now grown through and has integrated itself seamlessly with the rest of the footpath.

Lillybrook provide new fence for Bradenstoke Village Hall

Following seven years with Lillybrook being the major sponsor of St Marys Church Window Fund, the refurbishment of the windows is now complete. They can now be opened for the first time since the Second World War.

As part of our efforts to support the local community Lillybrook are now going to offer some support to Bradenstoke Village Hall.

We were asked to design, fabricate and supply a fence along the Village Hall boundary wall, which was completed last week, and we were delighted to receive a thank you card from the Village Hall Committee.

In the past when we had scrap metal to take for recycling, resultant money was paid to St Marys Church Window Fund. We have now asked the Recycling Company that in future for any scrap metal we take to them they make payment to Bradenstoke Village Hall instead.

Lillybrook granted planning approval for 12 new Park Homes

We are delighted to announce that Wiltshire Council have granted Lillybrook permission for 12 new Park Homes on the field behind Lillybrook office.

We plan to design these new homes to be our most eco friendly & energy efficient homes to date.

As part of the development Lillybrook plan to install a walk way around the field that leads to a pond on the far side for all residents of both Parks to enjoy.

We now have to discuss this development with the relevant Utility Companies (Water, Phone, Power etc). We also need to look at organising the infrastructure work required, and fitting this around our current work schedules. Therefore we cannot give an exact date of when construction work will commence, although we estimate the first home will arrive in early 2019. We will provide further updates as work progresses.

2016 BH&HPA Conference

On the 28th January we attended the annual BH&HPA conference, hosted at the QE2 Conference Centre in London. The BH&HPA honorary president David Bellamy, the environmental campaigner and Botanist was in attendance. Many may remember him as a famous TV personality.
Every year all BH&HPA member parks can be assessed on their eligibility for a David Bellamy Conservation Award. The award comes in three tiers: bronze, silver and gold. The accolade commends those who bear a commitment to the conservation of the environment.

Philip & Bellamy 2016 2

For the last two years Lillybrook has been the proud recipients of the gold award. It’s an honour that our consideration towards the local wildlife and our passion for the countryside has been recognised, and although maintaining the serenity of the environment is a reward in of itself, the recognition is flattering all the same.
All scheme members had the chance to have their photo taken with Bellamy, and we were happy to seize the opportunity.

All members were encouraged to invite their local MP’s to the conference lunch to further their understanding on how parks operate.
We contacted our local MP, James Gray, about the possibility of his attendance. We were delighted when he agreed to accompany us. We also set up an onsite meeting with James to give him a tour of our parks as well as an update on our business.

Philip & James Gray 2We discussed current Park Home issues with James at the conference, one of which was the 2013 update to the Mobile Homes Act, which is due to be reviewed next year. One of the subjects that came up was the pitch fee review process and how the documentation for residents has become unnecessarily bureaucratic. Before the introduction of the 2013 Act Park owners prepared a one page pitch fee review document for residents. Due to the updated act that number has now climbed to nine. Many residents have commented to us that they find the nine pages excessive and confusing.

We also discussed how the 2013 act has impacted on residents selling their park home. The act prevents Park owners from providing comments and advice to residents and buyers alike concerning the sale of the home. This was introduced in an attempt stop a few Park owners from sale blocking. Although the idea was well intentioned it has stopped good park owners from giving potentially helpful guidance. James suggested an update to the Act could be if a resident asked Park Owners for advice, that we could provide a written response. The suggestion will go forward for consideration.

Lillybrook At The 2015 Newbury Park Home Show

Lillybrook are proud to announce that we will be showcasing our latest park home, a 41ft x 20ft Homeseeker Affinity at the Newbury Park Home Show on 15th – 17th May 2015. The home will be located on the Prestige / Homeseeker stand.

Lillybrook Sales Director Philip Burchell and Sales Executive Luke Burchell will be present inside the home over the whole 3 days and will be able to answer any questions customers may have.

After the show the home will be transported to Church Park, where it will be sited on plot No.24. We anticipate the home will be completed and ready to view from mid June.

We welcome all visitors and look forward to seeing you at the show.

Bellamy Gold Award Presented To Lillybrook

Lillybrook are proud members of the David Bellamy Conservation Award scheme. For 2014/15 we were honoured with the Gold standard award for our continuing commitment to conservation and the environment.

At the recent BH&HPA annual conference in Cardiff we had the opportunity to have the award presented to us by David Bellamy himself. He is an extremely popular figure amongst those dedicated to environmental preservation and we were delighted to have our photograph taken with him.

We found the conference to be very informative and came away with some wonderful new ideas which we hope to further explore implementing onto both of our Parks in future.

New Home Arrival On Lillybrook

We are happy to announce the arrival of two new residents at Lillybrook Park. Steve and Jenny Cook are due to move into No.42 soon after the arrival of their new home.

The home in question is a 48ft x 20ft state of the art Homeseeker Sofia, boasting an array of energy saving features including an air source heat pump, SIP panelled flooring and rainwater harvester. The home is due for arrival on site in late February, and shall be situated on the empty plot adjacent to No.41.

The location flaunts a breathtaking view, playing host to the rolling hills and panning horizon. Coupled with the crisp air of the countryside, is there anything else that better embodies the spirit of Wiltshire?
